15 Jan 11 Congratulations to Sarah Robson and Christine Higgins (both Thurstaston) who rang their First Quarter Peal, this at their home tower, to mark the 125th anniversary of St Bartholomew's.
A second Quarter Peal was also scored two days later, this after a failed Peal attempt to mark the same event.
27 Jun 11 On 25 June, at the National 12-Bell Striking Contest held at Leeds Parish Church, each of the top three bands included a former Wirral ringer, each of whom had learned to ring in the Branch. This is almost certainly a 'first' for the branch, indeed it is quite possible that Wirral is the first branch (outside each band's 'home') to have achieved this. The ringers were Vicky Wilby (nee Halliwell) - ex Port Sunlight - in the winning Birmingham band, Peter Hughes - ex Bidston - in the second place York band, and Mark Humphreys - ex Port Sunlight - in the third placed College Youths band. Also Sue Sparling - ex Wallasey St Nicholas - rang for Exeter.
29 Nov 11 A peal was rung today to marking the centenary of the Dedication of St Nicholas (and All Saints) Church, Wallasey and also to celebrate the centenary of the first peal on the original ring of 6 - 29th November 1911.
The band were (pictured left to right in these photos (©Alf Plant): medium (280KB) or large (2.2MB))
     Treble - Peter Humphreys
     2nd - Lisa Nuttall
     3rd - Steven Hughes
     4th - Gavin Price
     5th - Alfred Plant
     6th - Peter Furniss
     7th - Geoffrey Sparling (Conductor)
     Tenor - Lenard Mitchell.
The peal of 5056 Plain Bob Major took 2 Hours 56 Minutes to complete and was rung before the visit of the Bishop of Chester for the evening service.
